When I first started doing internet marketing I read that there is a 97% failure rate. That means that 97 of every 100 people who try internet marketing fail. I’m sure from the title of this post you know exactly why. People give up too quickly. Everybody wants to bring up a website, throw some products on there, and make big money. But that’s just not how it works. There is real work involved and I feel too many people are mislead to believe that internet marketing is some incredibly easy way to make a ton of money in no time. That’s just not true.
When you look through the products on Internet Marketing For Newbies you’ll see that most of them are systems or automation products. Systems are awesome, especially if you’re looking to bring up multiple small niche websites. A system allows you to quickly set up a website, pick out your products, and get the ball rolling. It’s really the search engine optimization that you have to do and that’s where I think most people bail. When your site is first indexed by Google (or other search engines) it is going to bounce around a lot. You can be #3 for your keyword in the morning and #180 by the evening. If you’ve built a website with some quality then it will bounce back up to a higher position shortly but when you’re first starting out it’s very scary to see your website disappear within hours (I remember how disappointed I was when it first happened to me). For all you newbies out there, HANG IN THERE! Keep building backlinks, keep writing articles, and keep promoting and building your website(s). If you keep working hard then, when Google finally decides to stop screwing with you, your website will find a nice resting place so you can evaluate what you need to do to continue your growth.
Yes, it’s true that it could take a few months before you reach a top spot but trust me, it will be completely worth it. And it’s at that point that your website can start making money on what so many people like to call “auto-pilot.” What is meant by that is you don’t have to go build backlinks every day to fight for higher and higher positions. A few backlinks a week, maybe an article here or there and you should be set. It really is a shame to see so many people give up when they realize their bank account isn’t going to have five extra 0?s after a few days.
Those of us that succeed work hard and we constantly learn. We don’t give up if we’re not making money. We stay the course or we evaluate where we’re at and consider a new plan if our plan just isn’t working. Hopefully you guys see what I’m getting at here: Don’t give up. Keep trying and you’ll get it. So many people try, and try, and try then one day everything clicks and it’s smooth sailing from there on out. You just need to keep going until the clouds clear and the seas settle!
